About the role
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, journals, tax returns, P&L review, accruals and month end reports.
This is an onsite fulltime permanent position based in Kingsgrove (parking available), where you will work with a collaborative, vibrant and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting and Compliance
- Prepare month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and required journals for the Australian entities including a daily bank reconciliations.
- Provide relevant insight and commentary into the Balance Sheet and P&L balances.
- Prepare accurate BAS/GST and other compliance requirements in accordance with reporting timeframes.
- Support the finance team with Accounts Receivable collections.
- Assist with the audit process, including liaising with external auditors.
- Provide support and oversight during the month-end close for overseas entities.
Accounts Payable
- Support the accounts payable process, working closely with the Accounts Officer.
- Assist with reviewing, coding, and entering supplier invoices into the accounting system.
- Ensure invoices are processed in a timely manner to meet payment deadlines.
- Assist with resolving supplier queries and payment discrepancies when required.
- Support the preparation of payment runs and maintain accurate supplier records.
Payroll Processing and Compliance
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with P&C on staff and remuneration changes.
- Assist with preparing and lodging statutory reports such as PAYG, FBT, payroll tax, workers compensation etc.
Process Improvement & Financial Controls
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiency.
- Assist in maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with company policies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting procedures and documentation.
Other
- Support the inventory cycle count process.
- Development of policy or procedure documents to ensure key processes are documented.
- Provision of general finance and accounting support to areas where the business may need from time-to-time.
Desired skills and experience
- CA / CPA qualified or currently studying towards accreditation.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar Financial Accounting position.
- Strong technical acumen and financial reporting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organised with a strong process-driven mindset.
- Working knowledge of Oracle NetSuite (not essential).
